Happy Three-Month Birthday!

Lia is three months old today!

We went for a check-up yesterday and she is now 14 lbs, 12 oz (95th%), 24 inches long (90th%), with a 16 inch head circumference (75th%)! Keep in mind that she has not pooped since Tuesday, and that was both plentiful and messy (even Timmi had to change her clothes as she was holding Lia at the time).

A little bit of not-so-good news is that Dr. Grace detected a slight heart murmur. Lia was being very good and lying so nice and quiet that Dr. Grace said she could hear a slight murmur. She said it's probably just the sound of blood going through the heart valves and she probably only heard it because Lia was being so quiet. She likes to err on the side of caution and gave me the name of a cardiologist. Grace said that she's very good at hearing murmurs, so good that this cardiologist has politely asked her to stop sending every little murmur his way, as 9 out of 10 times it's nothing. So now Grace sends all infants with any detectible murmur, but uses more discretion with children over 12 months.

Lia also got two shots yesterday (pneumonia and polio). Poor thing screamed her head off, but stopped as soon as I picked her up. Again, she slept like a log all afternoon, so when she woke up after we ate dinner, I gave her a bath and we had some fun:

Then I tried to wet her hair and try some more styles, but she didn't like the cold water on her head, plus she had just about had enough of me:

In other news, Jeff got the swing down from the attic this past weekend and it was a big hit:


And the weather has been getting warmer (it was over 70F yesterday), but luckily we have some clothes from our little cousin in Florida:

Lia has been sleeping really well, giving us 5 to 7 hours every night. The trick is to not let her sleep until after 10:00, because then she will wake up after 6:00 am. Last night, she fell asleep at 9:30 and I let her sleep because of her shots. She screeched at 4:15, but then fell back asleep by the time I got to her (she's sleeping in her own room now because she has outgrown the bassinet). She woke up at 6:45! Hooray!
